Mr. Michael Demmick is a senior systems engineer at the Naval Ordnance Safety and Security Activity supporting the safety oversight of Department of Defense weapons systems throughout their lifecycle. Mike is a senior member of the Navy’s Weapon System Explosives Safety Review Board (WSESRB), the WSESRBs Fuze and Initiation Systems Technical Review Panel, and Software System Safety Technical Review Panel.

Mike is the Principal Navy representative to the Joint Ordnance Commanders Group Executive Committee, the Executive Secretary of the DoD Joint Weapons Safety Working Group, Secretary for the JCS Joint Weapons Safety Technical Advisory Panel (JWSTAP), and Chairs the OSD Unmanned Systems Safety IPT. Mike has over 40 years of experience in weapons and fuzing systems design and acquisition, energetic materials, weapons testing, and system safety engineering.

In the Private Sector Mike has served as a business owner and CEO, Deputy corporate cost center Director and a Defense Contract Technical Manager.

Mr. Demmick is retired from the U.S. Navy where he served as a Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician.
