2021 NDIA Perry award goes to Lockheed Martin’s Frank St. John

ARLINGTON, VA – Frank St. John, chief operating officer of Lockheed Martin Corp., is the 2021 recipient of the William J. Perry Award, given by the Integrated Precision Warfare (IPW) Division of the National Defense Industrial Association of Arlington, Virginia, the division announces.

“We are honored to recognize St. John’s career-long contributions to our nation. He is a visionary leader who guides with confidence and by example,” said Ken Masson, IPW division chairman. St. John received the award during the virtual Integrated Precision Warfare Annual Review, Tuesday, April 6.

St. John was recognized for his impact on America’s precision warfare combat advantage over his 33-year career at Lockheed Martin, which he began as a mere high school intern. As he grew through the ranks at Lockheed Martin, St. John has amplified the necessity and criticality of integrated precision warfare through tireless advocacy and support that also have elevated his leadership in the defense industry. The award is named in honor of former Secretary of Defense Dr. William J. Perry and recognizes exceptional contributions to precision strike systems in the private or public sector by an individual or team. A list of past recipients is available here. 

NDIA’s Integrated Precision Warfare Division provides a forum for disparate kill chain experts to convene and collaborate to advance the art and science of precision engagement. This sustains the success of American warfighters and ensures the safety of our nation. IPW organizes two classified annual events, held by the former Precision Strike Association: the Precision Strike Annual Review and the Precision Strike Technology Symposium. These events serve as ethical, collegial vehicles for top federal and military leadership to engage with technical subject matter experts and industry leadership in a candid dialogue that seeks to solve issues along the entire kill chain. To ensure the topics at these events are relevant and timely, IPW members annually visit operational U.S. military commands to gain firsthand knowledge of operational issues facing the warfighter.
