Mr. Wason is currently serving as the President and COO of Cypress International with over 38 years combined national security experience as both a US Army officer and senior Congressional staffer.

EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining Cypress, Wason served as Staff Director for the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services, where he was responsible for strategic planning to frame and focus the committee on its long-term objectives. Key responsibilities included the formulation, passage and enactment of the annual national defense authorization legislation, direction of all nominations, coordination of oversight on operational and intelligence special access programs, and representation of the committee in budget, policy and program negotiations with Senate leadership and other Senate committees. He served as the deputy staff director prior to serving as the staff director.

Before joining the Senate Armed Services Committee, Wason spent 13 years on the House Armed Service’s Committee where he was a Professional Staff Member leading the Tactical Air and Land Forces subcommittee and full committee acquisition reform efforts.

Prior to working for Congress, Wason spent 20 years in the Army as a Field Artillery and Acquisition officer.

EDUCATION

Mr. Wason, a native of California, entered military service in 1985 following graduation from California State University, Sacramento, with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Government. Wason also graduated from Florida Tech with a Master of Science in Acquisition and Contract Management.
