Arlington, VA – The 2016 Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC), scheduled to take place May 23-26, 2016 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, FL, will showcase the latest technology and provide a forum for interaction and collaboration among academia, government, industry stakeholders and the Special Operations Forces (SOF) community.

This year’s SOFIC includes an additional half-day of events with several new sessions, including the USSOCOM Marketplace, where Command experts will be available to answer questions related to doing business with USSOCOM. Additionally, the conference will include an International SOF Capabilities Demonstration, during which U.S. and international SOF Operators will conduct a joint demonstration to display interoperable tactical capabilities.

“SOFIC provides the best opportunity to network with and engage the Special Operations Forces community,” said NDIA President and CEO Gen. Craig McKinley, USAF (Ret.). “As we seek to maintain the edge in technology and maintain our advantage, it’s important that these conversations take place among industry, the military, academia and other stakeholders so we can work together to find the best solutions to enhance our capabilities. I’m looking forward to this year’s SOFIC, which will provide new and unique collaborative opportunities for the Special Operations Forces community and industry.”

Over ten thousand attendees are expected at 2016 SOFIC and 400 companies and organizations will exhibit products. The entire list of speakers and current agenda for 2016 SOFIC can be viewed here.

The conference will open with SOF-centric panel discussions and workshops, followed by remarks from the new USSOCOM Commander and USSOCOM Acquisition Executive. Each will provide perspectives on SOF challenges, trends and capability gaps, and provide thoughts on how USSOCOM and its industry partners can work together to find shared solutions.
