Rocket engines are the key to flight beyond the atmosphere, and are critical to a variety of weapon systems. But how exactly do rockets work? And what improvements might we see in years to come? This webinar will explore the basic principles of rocket design and operation, looking at the underlying performance and key parameters that characterize rocket systems. An overview of the various types of rockets, including chemical, electric, and nuclear will be presented, with a view towards their respective benefits and limitations. Some speculation on future rocket systems, including both evolutionary and revolutionary concepts, will also be presented.
