Developing a Data Sharing Pilot on Condition-Based Maintenance Working Group

Description

The NDIA Logistics Division and the NDIA Emerging Technologies Institute are conducting a workshop to discuss and design a pilot program to improve data sharing between the Department of Defense and industry for a particular problem set, specifically in improving Condition-Based Maintenance. The discussion will center around ways to facilitate the accessibility of data to help reduce operations and sustainment costs. Panels will include representatives from both government and industry who will speak to obstacles to data sharing, identify useful data sets, and share success stories in the use of data analytics to support sustainment missions.

 As part of this effort, breakout sessions will be facilitated to develop a proposed plan for a pilot program. The desired outcome of this event is a NDIA ETI and Software and Data Analytics working group paper which will make recommendations on specific activities to be undertaken by government and industry to establish a data sharing pilot.
