ARLINGTON, VA -- Debbie Langelier, assistant vice president for the National Training and Simulation Association, has been named among "The Top 500 People in Events," a ranking of North American meeting and events professionals from industry publication Bizbash, the magazine announced Sept. 27.

Langelier is one of just 19 people recognized as leaders in the "planners for associations" category in the rankings, which highlights outstanding professionals, Bizbash said in a statement.

Langelier manages all NTSA operations, including membership, events, exhibits, sponsorships and marketing for six events, among them the annual Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), the largest training and simulation event of its kind. Each year, I/ITSEC attracts more than 400 exhibiting companies and organizations and more than 16,000 attendees. Since joining NTSA in 2004, Langelier is credited for growing I/ITSEC more than 30 percent, and for starting and maintaining a high-level security program both for NTSA and I/ITSEC.

With more than a decade of experience in customer service, creative service and association sales management, Langelier knows what truly drives the non-profit sector and trade show industry. She knows that her talent in connecting people is one of the most important achievements in all organizations of which she has been a part. In addition, her expertise in marketing has let her push toward the future with a year-round digital presence.

“I am humbled and honored to be recognized in this manner,” Langelier said. “I am only one of many who are accomplishing great things in the event industry. An even greater honor, however, is to work to achieve the mission NTSA represents: dedication to the preparedness and safety of our warfighters as they go in harm's way.”

The National Training and Simulation Association of Arlington, Va., is an affiliate of the National Defense Industrial Association, the nation’s principal representative of the defense industrial base. This year’s I/ITSEC events takes place Nov. 26-29 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
