Stephen C. Hedger is Head of US Business and Chief Executive Officer at American Rheinmetall Defense, a subsidiary of Germany based Rheinmetall AG, a global leader in defense systems. In this role, he coordinates Rheinmetall’s strategic activities in the US market across all product and business portfolios including electronics, vehicle systems and weapons and ammunition. Prior to joining Rheinmetall, Hedger served as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs and later Chief of Staff to Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert Work and Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary Ash Carter at the Department of Defense. Hedger has also served as Special Assistant to the President for Senate Legislative Affairs in the Obama Administration and for a decade on Capitol Hill on House and Senate staffs. Following an active duty tenure in the US Army including service in the Balkans and Iraq, Hedger has continued to serve in reserve elements. He is a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point and Georgetown University Law Center.
