NDIA Appoints Frank Michael as Senior Vice President for Program Development

ARLINGTON, VA – The National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) today announced the appointment of Frank Michael to serve as its Senior Vice President for Program Development.

 

In this position, Mr. Michael will manage NDIA’s relationships with industry stakeholders and government officials, and will collaborate with its members, chapters, divisions and affiliates to provide forward-thinking programming and activities that address current and future challenges in defense and national security.

 

“Frank is a respected thought-leader who brings with him tremendous depth in strategic decision-making and a long and proven tenure of serving in executive leadership in the military services,” said President and CEO Gen. Craig McKinley, USAF (Ret.). “With Frank’s leadership, NDIA will continue to serve as a trusted source of information and collaboration.”

 

Mr. Michael joins NDIA from the Navy, where he most recently held the position of Chief, Navy Strategy Branch on the OPNAV staff. Prior to that assignment he served as a CNO Fellow at the Chief of Naval Operations Strategic Studies Group. In these roles, he worked directly with the Chief of Naval Operations to develop innovative warfighting concepts and was project lead and primary author of the Nation’s maritime strategy “A Cooperative Strategy for 21st Century Seapower”. His service included command of USS Boxer (LHD-4) and carrier air wing squadron Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light Four Seven (HSL 47).
