Consequently, NDIA members must avoid discussing certain topics when they are together – both at formal association membership, board, committee, and other meetings and in informal contacts with other industry members: prices, fees, rates, profit margins, or other terms or conditions of sale (including allowances, credit terms, and warranties); allocation of markets or customers or division of territories; or refusals to deal with or boycotts of suppliers, customers or other third parties, or topics that may lead participants not to deal with a particular supplier, customer or third party.

This bi-annual conference brings together executive-level security leadership and policy-makers across the federal agencies and U.S. industry to address major government security topics warranting your attendance.
<startDate>Mon, 18 May 2026 04:00:00 Z</startDate><endDate>Wed, 20 May 2026 04:00:00 Z</endDate><featuredImage type="image/jpeg" url="https://www.ndia.org/-/media/sites/ndia/meetings-and-events/2025/5/isc-2025/2025_isc_branding_webimage_ndiablue.png"></featuredImage><locationName>Rosen Centre Orlando</locationName><streetAddress>9840 International Drive</streetAddress><city>Orlando</city><state>FL</state><country></country><zipcode>32819</zipcode><phone></phone>

NDIA Spring Board of Directors Meeting

While historically, the fundamentals of aircraft combat survivability focused on evaluating a single aircraft’s survivability versus a single threat, the discipline must now expand. The United States is developing new aircraft which bring the ability to cooperate with other air assets, including Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA), to fight in the expected threat environment in 2030 and beyond. CCA are uncrewed, autonomous, drones that are designed to fly alongside crewed aircraft costing significantly less and providing greater sensor reach, delivery of weapons at increased ranges, and enhanced protection of the crew controlling the CCA. Thus, survivability analyses must also evolve to include the contribution of these off-board systems both to the survivability of the crewed aircraft-CCA systems and collectively to the entire air battleforce.

The goal of this workshop is to review the current state of the U.S. Defense Industrial Base to assess multi-systems aircraft survivability, and identify pathways needed to further develop improved analytical methods. This event welcomes researchers and testers from the Department of War, Services, academia, and industry to collectively build a multi-faceted perspective on multi-systems survivability. The workshop will establish what analytical methods are currently available, consider how existing analytical methods might be limited for the upcoming needs, and highlight investments which need to be made in the near term, in order to include the effects of nascent collaborative combat tactics in the analysis of multi-system survivability.

The workshop will be held at the SECRET//NOFORN level to allow discussion of details relevant to current acquisition programs.

Join the NDIA Air Combat Survivability Division for a 2-day workshop on Multi-Systems Aircraft Combat Survivability at the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, May 5-6, 2026.
<startDate>Tue, 05 May 2026 04:00:00 Z</startDate><endDate>Wed, 06 May 2026 04:00:00 Z</endDate><featuredImage type="image/jpeg" url="https://www.ndia.org/-/media/sites/ndia/meetings-and-events/2026/5/air-combat-workshop/air-combat-workshop-branding.png"></featuredImage><locationName>Air Force Institute of Technology </locationName><streetAddress>2950 Hobson Way</streetAddress><city>Wright-Patterson AFB</city><state>OH</state><country></country><zipcode> 45433</zipcode><phone></phone>

AI Is Changing BD & Capture — How Teams Find, Evaluate, Partner, and Win Faster

Capture and business development in government contracting are changing faster than most teams realize.

The conversation will focus on practical workflows, decision-making shifts, and lessons learned from real-world use—without sales pitches or product demos.

Does this mean we are on the doorstep of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)? If so, should we be excited, terrified, or something else?

It starts with the capabilities and limitations of current models, then defines two terms that are commonly used but rarely with precision: AGI and Superintelligence. From there, it explores the real implications of both and examines the strongest cases for and against two key claims: that AGI is imminent, and that scaling current models is a viable path to get there.

This convening of industry, investors, and senior government decision-makers will mark the publication of a new research report by the NDIA Emerging Technologies Institute, Mobilizing Capital for Defense: Tactics and Recommendations. This event will be open to members of the press.

The report outlines how the Department of Defense primarily mobilizes private investment through three levers: demand signals, catalytic capital, and an investable business environment, and why these tools are most powerful when used together. Drawing on interviews and recent case studies, the report describes how investors evaluate the defense industrial base, and where current government processes can inhibit the business case for investment.

The program includes a brief overview of key findings, as well as panel presentations focused on practical steps forward. Refreshments will be provided.

Please see the tentative agenda below:

Since its proliferation during World War II, radar has become a widely-used technology to accomplish these mission objectives as it offers many strategic advantages (e.g., resiliency to environmental nuisances, long-range detection, imaging capabilities). The benefits afforded by radar have enabled its use to permeate beyond the defense realm to meteorology, astronomy, and many commercial applications. At its core, radar employs the emission and reception of radio frequency (RF) energy to perform echolocation of targets of interest; from received echoes, the radar can infer many characteristics of a target such as its location, motion, and/or features about a target's structure. In this talk, fundamentals of radar measurement are introduced, along with the high-level trades that are typically encountered in radar system design. After the basic concept of operation has been discussed, an overview of contemporary radar applications for the defense community will be given, e.g., surveillance, fire control. Finally, the talk will conclude with a brief look at ongoing defense efforts involving radar systems.

Join NDIA's Emerging Technologies Institute (ETI) virtually on March 19, 2026, at 1:00 pm ET for our monthly Tech 101 series focusing on Defense Radar.
<startDate>Thu, 19 Mar 2026 04:00:00 Z</startDate><endDate>Thu, 19 Mar 2026 04:00:00 Z</endDate><featuredImage type="image/jpeg" url="https://www.ndia.org/-/media/ndia-eti/events/tech-101/tech101_eventimage.png"></featuredImage><locationName></locationName><streetAddress></streetAddress><city></city><state></state><country></country><zipcode></zipcode><phone></phone>

Digital Transformation for Acquisition (DxA) – Moving Faster than Bullet Time

Concluding the four-part series, Digital Transformation for Acquisition (DxA) Moving Faster than Bullet Time will feature a fireside chat focused on accelerating acquisition through digital transformation.

*This event is open to press*

NDIA has a policy of strict compliance with federal and state antitrust laws. The antitrust laws prohibit competitors from engaging in actions that could result in an unreasonable restraint of trade.

The purpose of the NDIA Tactical Wheeled Vehicle Division is to conduct a forum to present, discuss, and answer questions related to vehicle acquisition program strategies, updates, priorities, technology requirements, and other desired capabilities and characteristics to defense industry representatives in attendance.
<startDate>Mon, 23 Feb 2026 05:00:00 Z</startDate><endDate>Wed, 25 Feb 2026 05:00:00 Z</endDate><featuredImage type="image/jpeg" url="https://www.ndia.org/-/media/sites/ndia/meetings-and-events/2026/2/twv-2026/twv25_webimage_turretgreen.jpg"></featuredImage><locationName>Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown</locationName><streetAddress>600 Commonwealth Pl</streetAddress><city>Pittsburgh</city><state>PA</state><country></country><zipcode>15222</zipcode><phone></phone>

AI-Enabled Market Intelligence for Acquisition Success: Transforming How the Pentagon Conducts Market Research

As defense acquisition organizations pursue speed, agility, and better decision-making, the market research phase is emerging as a prime candidate for transformation through artificial intelligence. Traditionally labor-intensive and fragmented, market research often relies on manual reviews of disparate data sources, limiting the government’s ability to rapidly understand commercial capabilities, supplier landscapes, cost drivers, and emerging technologies. This session explores how AI-enabled tools and techniques can augment, not replace, acquisition professionals, improving the quality, consistency, and timeliness of market research that informs requirements, acquisition strategy, and risk reduction.

Building on acquisition modernization initiatives and lessons learned across government and industry, this discussion will examine how AI can be responsibly integrated into market research workflows to support evidence-based acquisition decisions. Participants will hear from practitioners applying AI to real-world acquisition challenges and gain practical insights into how AI can strengthen market intelligence while preserving human judgment and accountability.

Key topics will include:

The evolving role of AI in market research, including automated discovery, synthesis, and comparison of commercial capabilities, vendors, and technologies.

Common pain points in traditional market research and how AI-assisted approaches can reduce manual effort, improve traceability, and increase analytical rigor.

AI-enabled analysis of industry engagement artifacts (e.g., RFIs, Sources Sought, white papers, capability briefings) to extract patterns, gaps, and opportunities.

Using AI to support acquisition planning, including alignment of market research outputs to requirements development, acquisition strategies, and independent cost estimates (IGCEs).

Opportunities and risks of AI-assisted market research, including data quality, bias, transparency, and the importance of keeping humans in the loop.

Best practices for documenting and validating AI-informed market research in a manner consistent with FAR requirements and audit expectations.
