AUKUS Security Clearance Information
Classified information presented during NDIA West 2025 shall not exceed the SECRET//REL USA, AUS, GBR level. Additionally, those presenting shall ensure their content has been reviewed and authorized for foreign release to Australia and the United Kingdom IAW DoDD 5230.11. Security clearances will be verified for all attending, and access to classified presentations or discussions will be based on a certified personal security access roster.
All attendees shall carry a valid federal or state-issued photo ID or passport at all times. Attendees are required to wear (display) the NDIA-provided conference identification badges throughout the conference regardless of venue. Participants may be asked to present their photo ID during routine security spot checks.
Briefcases, handbags, backpacks or other personal items that may conceal personal electronic devices are strictly prohibited in the conference spaces. A by-exception waiver to this prohibition may be authorized by the site security manager when a medical-related justification warrants. If a waiver is granted, the item will be subject to random inspection.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AT THIS CONFERENCE WITHOUT EXCEPTION. This includes cell phones, Nextels, two-way radios, AM/FM radios, personal digital assistants (PDAs) such as Palm Pilots and Blackberries, laptops, cameras, video/audio recording devices, pagers, or any other transmitting devices. Attendees who fail to comply with these requirements will be escorted out of the conference and/or reported to US Navy Security Services for further action. Personnel with medically necessary electronic devices shall contact the UWDC Command Security Manager, Mr. Ramon Ramirez at 619-524-1030 or ramon.z.ramirez.civ@us.navy.mil, no later than 2 weeks prior to the conference to submit a request for possible approval to enter the conference with a medically necessary device.
Note-taking, both classified and unclassified, will not be permitted during the conference, and attendees will not be allowed to bring any note-taking materials.
Please complete the two step process below:- For Foreign Attendees (Australia and the United Kingdom):
- Request installation access for Naval Base Point Loma (NBPL) Harbor Drive Annex (HDA), no later than 24 Feb 2025
- A request for base access is REQUIRED for all personnel that do not already have a CURRENT US DOD-issued CAC ID that grants them access to Naval Base Point Loma – Harbor Drive Annex. If you are unsure whether or not your issued CAC ID grants you access to NBPL HDA or you are UNSURE WHETHER OR NOT YOU WILL ATTEND, then you are HIGHLY encouraged to complete the base access request process below.

- Submit your personal information through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Pre-Enrollment Website.The site can be located at the following link DBIDS Website or https://dbids-global-enroll.dmdc.mil/
- Follow the instruction sheet linked HERE
- When you are complete email the following items to the email addresses below:
- PDF capture or screenshot of the QR code provided when you complete your entry into the DBIDS website
- In the text of the email provide the alpha numeric code provided by DBIDS when you complete your entry
- Your passport number, passport expiration date, and your passport’s issuing country

2. Submit US DoD Foreign Visit Request (FVR).Send case number to Mr. Doug Kelchner (douglas.m.kelchner.civ@us.navy.mil) no later than 07 Feb 2025.
- Submit a Request for Visit (RFV), AKA Foreign Visit Request (FVR) via your nation’s embassy in Washington DC to the US DoD Foreign Visit System (FVS). DOD Directive requires 21 business days to process an FVR. The following information is to be used when completing your FVR/RFV to ensure proper routing to the Navy, and further dissemination to the activity to be visited. In the case of the NDIA, the activity will be ‘UWDC-DET-SD’. Please include the following information in the corresponding fields when filling your FVR-RFV.
