Chief Fitzpatrick assumed the duties and responsibilities as LEDET 111’s Assistant Officer in Charge (AOIC) in August 2023. Given his outstanding experience, he was hand selected to stand up one of the TACLET Pacific’s two new LEDET’s established in AY24. With over 40 years in existence, LEDET’s are worldly renowned for conducting Drug Interdiction operations to counter transnational organized crime, Illegal, Unregulated, Unreported Fisheries (IUU-F) and other Law Enforcement mission sets such as migrant operations and defense readiness. TACLET Pacific consists of 11 operational LEDETs, 101-111, with LEDET 112 serving as the unit’s training department.
He is a native of Melrose, Massachusetts and long-time resident of Southern California. He followed his grandfather’s footsteps and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in May 2008 and completed Basic Training at Training Center Cape May, New Jersey. Previous assignments include Coast Guard Cutter SPENCER as a non-rate, Sector Houston Galveston after completing MST-A school. He then lateraled over to the ME rating in 2010 where he was assigned to Station New York as an ME3. He then received orders to TACLET Pacific from 2015-2020. From 2020-2023 he was assigned to Sector Honolulu working with the enforcement division.
His personal awards include Coast Guard Commendation Medal, Coast Guard Achievement Medal (three), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and Expert Pistol Medal, in addition to other personal, unit and Service awards. He has earned the Tactical Law Enforcement Insignia.
He is married to his wife Samantha and a proud father to his son James.
