Bio
Mr. Peter Steen is a Global Strategy and Economics Advisor at the US Department of Defense, Joint Staff Strategy, Plans and Policy Directorate, Director's Advisory Group. He provides the Joint Staff with analysis of the nexus of economy/energy/finance and US national security. He also provides methodological support to Joint Staff decisions through applying behavioral, econometric, and psychometric analytic techniques and insights in support of national security strategies, policies, and decisions. Mr. Steen began support to the Joint Staff in 1998, entering government service in 2010. Previously, he was the lead architect in the Joint Staff's Common Approach to Theater Campaign Plan Assessments. He was also the lead architect for the Department of Defense effectiveness assessment for the Global War on Terror. Mr. Steen is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, specializing in the nexus of economy and national security. He is a graduate of Bradley University, the University of South Carolina, and the University of Utah.
