Bio

Ryan Bellack serves as the Acting Product Line Manager for Unified Capabilities at United States Coast Guard, where he is the driving force behind the service development, delivery, and support for an expansive range of user-facing services—from workstations and call centers to mobile devices and a comprehensive cloud productivity suite.

Ryan embodies the spirit of innovation and dedication, ensuring that every member of the Coast Guard has access to modern productivity tools across all environments, whether on shore, aboard a cutter, in an aircraft, at home, or on any device. His leadership has led to significant milestones, including the migration of key capabilities to the cloud, such as email, SharePoint, telephony, and mobile device management. Currently, he is leading teams to integrate cloud productivity into classified networks, modernize telephony systems to VoIP, and implement a digital signing workflow that is platform agnostic.

Before assuming his current position, Ryan honed his skills and leadership as the Deputy Product Line Manager for Unified Capabilities. Ryan's journey with the Coast Guard began in March 2019 when he was appointed as the Section Chief of Client Integration Services. This foundational role set the stage for his future achievements, providing him with the requisite understanding of the organization's technological landscape and the unique challenges faced by its members.

Beyond his contributions to the Coast Guard, Ryan extends his expertise and passion for IT and cybersecurity to the broader community. As an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus, he molds the next generation of professionals, guiding them through problem and project-based learning within Information Technology and Cybersecurity programs. In addition, he is the Vice President of Finance for the ISC2 Northern Virginia Chapter, where he oversees finances to support the chapter's mission of fostering a robust information security professional community.

Ryan's prior experience span over two decades to including roles at the General Services Administration supporting technology-based governmentwide acquisition contracts and at the Department of Homeland Security delivering enterprise IT. Before his civilian service career, Ryan served on active duty in the United States Air Force as a Fire Officer, Instructor, and Hazardous Materials Technician.

Ryan's holds Master's degrees in Cybersecurity Technology from the University of Maryland University College and Management Information Systems from Bellevue University. His certifications, include Certified in the Governance of Enterprise Information Technology (CGEIT), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), among others.

His contributions to the Coast Guard's C4IT community were recognized with the prestigious 2022 CDR John P. Dailey Award, a symbol of leadership and mentorship that Ryan holds in high esteem.

Ryan is married to Diana Bellack of Alexandria, Virginia.
