Bio

Tyler Griffin is Lockheed Martin’s Strategy and Business Development Director for the Mission Systems & Weapons market segment and is based in Bothell, Washington.  In this role, Tyler is responsible for ensuring LM’s products and mission capabilities remain ahead of ready in the areas of avionics, aircraft modernization, launching systems, and high energy laser weapon systems.  Prior leadership positions include the Site General Manager for Lockheed Martin’s Bothell facility, the Program Director for Lockheed Martin’s Laser & Sensor Systems portfolio, and the Managing Director for Lockheed Martin’s Military Solutions segment of its United Kingdom Integrated Systems portfolio, a role inclusive of manned and unmanned aviation, as well as maritime mission capabilities.

 

Tyler’s career with Lockheed Martin began in 2001 within the Missiles & Fire Control Business Area, and he has held leadership roles of increasing responsibility in program management, international business development, and advanced technology development and delivery.  His early career experiences spanned multiple operational and program assignments, including supplier sourcing, quality engineering, and program management support for the Army’s Apache Modernized Target Acquisition & Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor, the Air Force’s SNIPER targeting pod, and the Navy’s Aegis Weapon System.

 

Tyler has a track record of transitioning early research and development outcomes to the warfighter. Examples span both hardware and software domains, and products include electronic warfare countermeasures, command and control algorithms, and laser weapon systems.

 

Tyler graduated from Kenyon College with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and has a master’s degree in Business Administration from Villanova University.
