Bio

Joe Kraus joined ManTech International Corporation in 1999 after serving for 22 years in the U.S. Air Force.

As SVP, Customer & Change Advocate, Joe coordinates efforts with business unit general managers and the chief growth officer to ensure Customer’s requirements are achieved. In this role, Joe is responsible for customer satisfaction and mission success for the group’s special access programs (SAPs), as well as developing strategic plans to maximize ManTech’s efforts in the SAPs and sensitive compartmentalized information (SCI) environments.

Joe leads ManTech’s Incident Response and Communication Team and is also the Chairman of the Contractor SAP Security Working Group (CSSWG) Board of Directors, which is tasked with advancing the practice of security management as a profession and fostering the highest qualities of professionalism and competence among its members. Additionally, Joe is the Chairman of the Industry Security Working Group (ISWG) Personnel Security Committee with a focus on the Security Clearance Reform Campaign, a member of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) Insider Threat Sub-Committee and Personnel Security Working Group, and Chair, for the NCMS NISP Policy Subcommittee.

In July 2016, Joe was the acting senior vice president and general manager of the Mission Intelligence Solutions Business Unit, where he was responsible for $450 million in revenue, more than 1,700 personnel nationwide, and supported the Defense Department and intelligence community SAP/SCI needs, and space resiliency.

Joe has 46 years of acquisition and operational program protection SAP experience, to include an assignment during his tenure with the Air Force as the initial system security engineer, stationed at Headquarters Air Combat Command (ACC), Directorate of Requirements (DRB). In this role, he articulated and executed 21st century program protection strategies for weapon systems such as the F-15 C/D Multi-Stage Improvement Program (MSIP), F-22, and F-35. He retired at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and his final duty assignment was with the White House Military Office (WHMO), Special Programs Office (SPO) and is a recipient of the Presidential Service Badge (PSB).
