Bio

Mr. Alexander Hubert is the Regional Mission Director - Authorizing Official for the Eastern Region, Industrial Security of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency. In this role, Mr. Hubert is responsible for the assessment and authorization (A&A) of National Industrial Security Program (NISP) critical infrastructure, comprised of over 1500 connected, interconnected, and stand-alone networks and systems located in 18 U.S. States, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Mr. Hubert leads a dedicated team of DCSA Information System Security Professionals (ISSPs) to protect and defend sensitive and classified information and information systems through implementation of National Institute of Technology and Standards (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST Cybersecurity Framework, 32 CFR Part 117 NISP Operating Manual, and liaison activity with U.S. Military Departments, U.S. Government Agencies and Industry.

Mr. Hubert enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1987 on delayed entry and served our great nation from 1988 to 2008 where he served as a Weather Technician and Craftsman, and Information Management Officer until his retirement in 2008. During his military service, Mr. Hubert served in several leadership positions, culminating as Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the largest U.S. combat training and readiness center in Europe, where he readied more than 100 Airmen for combat. He served in combat zones to include Bosnia, Northeast Turkey, and Afghanistan. Upon active duty retirement, Mr. Hubert continued his service as a civil servant with the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, and DCSA. During his time with the U.S. Army, Mr. Hubert served in the roles of Information Assurance Specialist, Business and Security Enterprise Architect, and Director, Cybersecurity. As a civil servant with the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Hubert served as Data Center Team Lead, Business and Security Enterprise Architect, Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert, Authorizing Official Designated Representative (AODR), Security Controls Assessor (SCA), and Chief Data Officer. Mr. Hubert accepted a promotion to GG-15 and transitioned to DCSA in January 2022 as Regional Authorizing Official, Eastern Region.

Mr. Hubert holds a Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity Management and Policy from the University of Maryland Global Campus, a Master’s in Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Information Technology Management from Trident University International. He holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification and volunteers his personal time to coach high school teams in Air Force Association U.S. CyberPatriot program.
