Brig. Gen. Sean K. Tyler is the Commander of Defense Logistics Agency Aviation and Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. DLA Aviation is a major subordinate command of DLA and is the agency’s combat logistics and supply chain manager for aviation and nuclear assets across the Department of Defense. DLA Aviation is headquartered in Richmond, Va. and operates at 18 geographically separated sites across the U.S. Brig.

Gen. Tyler’s team is comprised of more than 3,800 civilian and military personnel supporting more than 13,500 joint aircraft, 450 intercontinental ballistic missiles and a host of other weapons systems. His command is the U.S. military’s integrated material manager for over 1.7 million weapon system items, managing an $8.5 billion supply chain enabling all aspects of the Services operational and depot-level repair actions. Additionally, he serves as base commander for Defense Supply Center Richmond, providing installation support, services, and security to 20 tenants, which includes a two-star Virginia National Guard Joint Headquarters, and over 8,000 personnel.

Brig. Gen. Tyler graduated from Florida State University in 1994 and commissioned in 1995 through Officer Training School. He has served in a variety of positions at the squadron, wing, major command, and Headquarters Air Force level, and deployed to Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. He has commanded a logistics readiness squadron, an expeditionary logistics readiness squadron, an expeditionary mission support group and an air base wing. Prior to his current position, the general was the Director of
Logistics, Engineering, and Force Protection, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
