Bio

Dr. Jeff Jorgeson is a Research Civil Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) where he has worked in various capacities since 1991.  He currently works in the USACE Reachback Operations Center (UROC) at ERDC which facilitates providing the Army Corps of Engineers’ robust engineering and technical expertise via reachback to support military contingency operations as well as humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations.  Dr. Jorgeson served as the UROC Director from 2015 to 2019, and prior to working with the UROC he was a Research Hydraulic Engineer with the ERDC Coastal and Hydraulic Laboratory where he specialized in hydrologic modeling and hydraulic analysis focusing on the application of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools to support military planning and continency operations.  His career started as a U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps Officer where he served tours with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 40 and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command.  Dr. Jorgeson holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University, and a PhD in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University.  He is a registered Professional Engineer in both California and Mississippi.
