Bio

Mr. Braun currently serves as a Principal Engineer and Capture Manager for Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. In this role, he leads multiple contracts and business development efforts across the Navy and Air Force, is an engineering and nuclear weapons subject matter expert and mentor, and runs the nuclear weapons design, physics, and effects curriculum for the company.

Mr. Braun is also the Director of Communications and an executive member of the Board of Directors for the Integrated Precision Warfare Division of the NDIA. In this position, he works to bring together the DoD, US Government, industry, and academia to solve technical and capability challenges being faced by the Precision Warfare community and the Department of Defense.

Prior to his joining SPA, Mr. Braun spent two years at the Pentagon on the Joint Staff as a Scientific Nuclear Weapons Advisor, where he advised the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and other leadership on technical, programmatic, strategic, and geopolitical issues pertaining to nuclear weapons and supported the Nuclear Weapons Council.

Mr. Braun has a decade of experience at Sandia National Labs, where he led the design of nuclear weapon systems and components.  During this timeframe, he led large teams of scientists, engineers, and manufacturers to incorporate modern technologies into the nuclear stockpile.

Mr. Braun received his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington. He lives in Alexandria, VA, and enjoys building and racing cars, renovating his home, and reading in his free time.
