Bio

Dr. Kayla Riegner is a Research Specialist for Ground Vehicle Robotics at the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Command Center (DEVCOM) Ground Vehicle Systems Center.

 

Dr. Riegner joined TARDEC in 2006 and started her career in Survivability, specifically lightweight armor, conducting research and development of composite materials for U.S Army ground vehicle systems. Dr. Riegner also worked in the Program Office Ground Combat Systems informing the requirements of the Army’s next generation of ground combat vehicles. Dr. Riegner served as the Next Generation Combat Vehicle Cross-Functional Team (NGCV CFT) LOE 2 Lead (Unmanned Systems) for Project Convergence 20/21.

 

Dr. Riegner received her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering (2007) and Master in Business Administration (2008) from Wayne State University. She also earned her Master in System Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 2011. In 2019, Kayla received her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Michigan Technological University, with a focus on human factors.
