Dan Miller is the Director Defense Solutions with SAP Public Services. Dan has extensive experience in military operations, manufacturing, and information technology in a variety of roles including the US Navy, corporate finance, manufacturing engineering, and IT program management for global firms with complex supply chains. Prior to joining SAP, Dan was a project manager in the Automotive industry on global SAP deployments and maintenance management system rollouts.

As an SAP Program Manager and Solution Architect he has helped government organizations and commercial firms develop and implement solutions to address a variety of needs including but not limited to reducing inventory, improving forecasting, increasing collaboration, expediting international trade, and establishing auditable financial systems. His delivery of major SAP implementations for Manufacturing firms in High Tech and Industrial Machinery are noteworthy for simplification of project plans and efficient delivery.

Prior to his retirement as a Commander from the Naval Reserve, he served in a variety of Surface Warfare, Seabee, and staff billets, being called to active duty numerous times. Service included duty as a logistics planner for the Ebola Task Force, Security Cooperation assignments in Africa, as well as counter-terrorism operations. He continues to serve the Navy as a volunteer Sailing and Leadership instructor in the Naval Academy Command and Seamanship Training Squadron.

Dan holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis and a MBA from the University of Michigan. His combination of skills and experience enable him to help businesses and government understand how SAP’s solutions can help address business and operational problems.
