Bio

Dan Kambic is a Cybersecurity Team Lead, Cyber Assurance, in the CERT division of Carnegie Mellon University’s (CMU) Software Engineering Institute (SEI). Dan is part of a team responsible for helping to execute a research and development portfolio focused on improving the security and resilience of the Nation’s critical infrastructure and assets, with specific focus on risk and resilience.

He also serves as an advisor for CMU Heinz College M.S. student capstone projects. Dan has over 30 years of experience in IT security, architecture, applications, project delivery, and management.

Prior to joining the SEI, Dan was an IT manager at PPG Industries, Inc. where he managed the execution and rollout of a global logistics and transportation management solution. Before his PPG experience Dan held a progression of global IT positions at the H.J. Heinz Company (now Kraft Heinz), and earlier in his career spent time at U.S. Steel Corporation.

Dan holds both a Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dan is a certified Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and also holds ITIL v3 certification.
