Bio

David joined Michelin in 2019 and is responsible for Government and Defense programs in North America. He leads an international sales force responsible for replacement and original equipment sales to the U.S. Department of Defense, the Canadian Department of National Defense, Federal, State, Provisional, and local governments, and utility industries. David’s team manages the government customer interface and contract management for Michelin’s B2B and B2C activities and Commercial Business Lines as well as federal government programs such as NASA’s Artemis Project. David is also an Advisory Board member for AddUp Additive Manufacturing, a Michelin Group Company and The Normandy Institute.

Prior to Michelin, David served in the US Army for 30 years retiring at the rank of Colonel. He held leadership roles at every level of his career, serving in the 7th Infantry Division, 82d Airborne Division, 75th Ranger Regiment and deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq. He also Commanded the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey, CA where he was responsible for the education and training of 4,500 resident military linguists and another 65,000 language learners on-line.
Other notable assignments include service as the Defense and Army Attaché to Paris France, Athens Greece, and Belgrade Serbia where he oversaw security assistance, military equipment sales, policy and bilateral relations between the United States and its allies.

David holds a master’s degree in International Relations from Troy University, a master’s degree in National Security Strategy from the National Defense University, a bachelor’s degree in English from The Citadel, and certificates in business from Harvard Business School and the University of Kansas. He is a three-time graduate of the Defense Language Institute with proficiencies in Russian, Serbian/Croatian, Greek and French languages.

David resides in Potomac, Maryland with his wife, one daughter and German Shepherd dog.
