Bio

Roger Wells is the Vice President and General Manager for the Unmanned & Integrated Solutions Business Unit of Teledyne FLIR.  FLIR Systems, Inc. was acquired by Teledyne Technologies in May 2021.  Roger has more than twenty-five years’ experience across multiple disciplines including engineering, business development, program management, and executive management.  In his current role as a General Manager, Roger has full P&L responsibility and is accountable for the development, execution, and sustainment of the Unmanned Airborne Systems (UAS), Unmanned Ground Systems (UGS), Integrated Solutions (IS), and Detection lines of business including ensuring high levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.  His motivation is to save lives and livelihoods by providing mission critical solutions that are designed to meet the demanding needs of our customers. 

Early in Roger’s career, he worked as a DoD civilian supporting the development and fielding of world-wide C4ISR networks and information systems.  Roger joined Northrop Grumman and moved steadily through the engineering and program management ranks to the level of Director, Technology & Infrastructure Development Programs.  After a stint as a consultant, he joined ICX Technologies as a VP of Programs & Systems Integration, which was then acquired by FLIR Systems in 2010.  Across all his career assignments, Roger has always maintained an unwavering commitment to his customers, working to ensure they have the solutions they need to safely complete their missions.  Roger has a proven record of building and managing organizations with a focus on solid execution and business area growth.  He has excellent critical thinking skills with a demonstrated ability for analyzing complex problems and formulating innovative, economically feasible solutions based upon unique lifecycle requirements.

Roger earned his MS in Systems Engineering and a BS in Electrical Engineering from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.  He has traveled extensively throughout his career often spending long periods of time embedded with his customers, taking the opportunity to both teach and learn.  Roger is an outdoor enthusiast and an avid hiker.
