Thamar supports ARServices’ defense and national security customers whose mission centers around countering weapons of mass destruction (CWMD). A former career Army officer, he has more than 30 years’ experience executing and supporting the CWMD mission.

Thamar served in the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical as a Principal Director where he also performed the duties of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Chemical & Biological Defense. In this role, he oversaw an annual $1.4 billion joint program responsible for developing and fielding all chem-bio defense equipment and medical countermeasures for the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, Special Operations Command, and National Guard Bureau.

Thamar joined OSD from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, where he was the Deputy Director of the Research and Development Directorate’s Chemical and Biological Technologies Department (DTRA RD-CB) and jointly served as its first Warfighter Integration Division Chief.

Previously, Thamar directed teams to develop capability requirements for equipment for all Engineer, Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) and Military Police Forces as Requirements Division Chief of the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence at Fort Leonard Wood, and previously served as Army G8 CWMD Branch Chief in the Pentagon representing the Army as Executive Agent to the Joint Chemical Biological Defense Program.

Thamar holds a bachelor’s in applied science from Boise State and a master’s in environmental management from Webster University.
