Bio
Matt Eanes serves as the Director of the Performance Accountability Council’s Program Management Office (PAC PMO). The PAC is the interagency forum responsible for improving how the Government determines trustworthiness among its workforce—including civilian, military, and contractor personnel—to hold a particular position, gain access to government IT systems / physical spaces, or receive a security clearance. Collectively, this is known as the “personnel vetting” mission space.

Matt’s office supports the PAC’s leadership by coordinating personnel vetting reforms across the Executive Branch. This includes assistance with implementing the Trusted Workforce 2.0 initiative, a series of reforms that are dramatically modernizing the mission space. Prior to joining the PAC PMO, Matt worked as a consultant on range of government and private sector issues. He earned a master’s degree in systems engineering from Virginia Tech.

In 2021, Matt received a Federal 100 Award for his contributions to demonstrating how technology can be leveraged to make government run better. He was also a 2020 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medal (SAMMIE) finalist in Management Excellence for assisting Executive Branch efforts to reduce the background investigations backlog and reform personnel vetting.
