Dr Jermont Chen is the Chief for Air Force Research Laboratory’s Asian Office of Aerospace Research and Development (AFRL/AFOSR/AOARD) in Tokyo, Japan.  AOARD maintains awareness of Air Force-relevant basic research topics and is also charged with building research relationships between Asian researchers and counterparts at AFRL Technical Directorates and US academic institutions.

Prior to his assignment to AOARD, Jermont was an Administrative Program Officer at National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration’s Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory in Princeton, NJ as well as an adjunct faculty member in the Chemistry Department at Drew University in Madison, NJ. 

Jermont received his PhD in Chemistry from Princeton University in 2008, master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Oklahoma in 2003, and bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the United States Air Force Academy in 1994.
