What is the 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference?
The 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference is for the undersea warfare community to come together to gain insight into the latest requirements and developments in undersea warfare in an unclassified setting —all from the comfort of their own homes or offices.

How do I register for the 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference?
You can register online at NDIA.org/VirtualUSW.

When is the deadline to register for the 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference?
There is not a deadline to register, however registrations received during the week of the conference may take up to 24 hours process and receive login instructions.

What if I register for the 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference and miss it?
About seven (7) days after the conference, all of our releasable presentations and recordings will be available in an on demand format to everyone who was registered for the 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference. Refunds will not be given for no shows to the virtual event. 

Will I need a security clearance to attend the virtual conference?

All presentations will be an unclassified setting, so a security clearance is not required.

What is On-Demand?
On Demand will give you access to the releasable presentations and handouts from the 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference to view at your own convenience. Accessing these presentations from the virtual conference allows you to gain valuable insights from the undersea warfare community.

When will I receive the instructions for attending the 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference?
About a week before the virtual conference you will receive an email inviting you to create your profile in the virtual platform. Here you will be able to add items such as a profile photo and contact information. Upon login, you can also start to navigate through the platform. Please note that if you register after September 16th, it may take up to 24 hours to process your registration and receive login instructions.

Can my computer or mobile device handle the 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference?
Most up to date computers and mobile devices such as laptops, desktops, and handheld tablets are capable of running the virtual conference for you. It is recommended that you use Google Chrome, and for government employees to disconnect from their VPN.

What platform will be used for the 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference?

Live sessions will be conducted using Zoom.  It is recommended to use Google Chrome as your web browser, and for government employees to disconnect from their VPN.

Does NDIA give out Attendee Lists?
Attendees will receive an attendee list via email within a week of the virtual conference concluding.

What do I need to do to participate in the 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference?
You will need to login first to the virtual platform lobby. After logging in, scroll down to view the agenda tiles broken out by day and time. To enter a session, simply click on the session tile.  A security clearance is not required to attend the 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference.

Will there be a conference survey?
After the event, NDIA will send an overall 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference survey to gather feedback on the conference.  

Do I have access to all the sessions?
In a word, yes! Similar if you were attending the conference in person, you will be given the opportunity to select which sessions you’d like to attend virtually. It is up to you to decide which sessions interest you and to attend those sessions as desired. You may attend as many or as few sessions as you want.

Will I be able to see the presenters for each session?
Yes, you will be able to see both the speaker and slides.

Can I ask questions during the sessions?
We encourage you to ask questions at any time using sli.do, additional information will be provided on how to use this question tool closer to the conference.

Can I share my virtual conference login information with other members of my team?
No
, your login information is unique to your individual registration. For every paid registration to attend virtually, only that registered attendee will be allowed to enter the virtual conference. The questions asked and the chat shown to all attendees within that single login session are all tied to the account of the individual that purchased the virtual event.

Can I access and view recordings of any sessions from the conference?
Your virtual conference registration includes access to all educational session recordings after the event concludes. Any session that NDIA had permission to record will be available about seven (7) days after the conference.   

How can I network with other attendees?
The 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference will host Networking Break Chat Lobbies each day. This feature will give all attendees the ability to connect with each other through engaging discussions. Look for the Networking Breaks in the lower right of the “Virtual Lobby”.  You will be able to find friends or colleagues who are at the conference, see if they are available or currently in a sessions, and invite them to a 1-on-1 video call. 

What is the 2020 Undersea Warfare Virtual Conference cancellation policy?
Cancellations for full conference registration categories received by September 16, 2020 will receive a refund minus a $100 cancellation fee. For registrations under $100, a $25 cancellation fee will be applied. No refunds will be given for this event after September 16, 2020.  Substitutions for this event are welcome in lieu of cancellations. Refunds will not be given for no shows.
