Bio

Sam Grogan is the Global Privacy Policy Analyst of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP’s Centre for Information Policy Leadership. Sam has specialized expertise in EU and US data privacy law, compliance, and policy. In his role, Sam monitors and analyzes global privacy developments and regularly writes project white papers, workshop and meeting reports, blogs, articles, public consultations responses, and other materials on a wide variety of data protection topics. Additionally, his international experience in privacy helps to develop and generate new projects and ideas that further CIPL’s mission of policy impact.

Prior to joining Hunton Andrews Kurth, Sam completed his first LL.M. degree at Queen Mary, University of London, where he specialized in EU privacy. His second LL.M. degree was performed at the University of Pennsylvania Law School where he concentrated in US privacy. Sam previously worked on global privacy issues at the Stanford Center for Internet and Society and Penn Law’s Center for Technology, Innovation and Competition. Sam is a New York-qualified attorney and is CIPP/US, CIPP/E, and CIPP/A certified.
