Model Based Systems Engineering (Practitioners) Workshop

Model Based Systems Engineering (Practitioners) Workshop

Are you unsure of exactly what Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is, its key features and benefits, and how MBSE tools are used to enhance the effectiveness of the systems engineering process?

This innovative 32-hour, practice-based MBSE Practitioners Workshop builds on the Fundamentals of MBSE course, by incorporating an additional learning module on modeling aspects of verification and validation (V&V). Four expertly designed workshops provide essential MBSE knowledge and skills through structured presentations and hands-on modeling exercises, teaching participants how to:

  • Create an integrated and fully traceable system model using a proven, easy-to-understand MBSE modeling methodology,
  • Develop coherent and integrated operational, functional, and physical models using visual diagramming techniques,
  • Model integrated system functional and physical architectures and their associated interfaces,
  • Develop a fully traceable verification cross-reference matrix (VCRM),
  • Automatically generate key systems engineering artifacts such as the Operational Concept Document (OCD) and Performance Specification (PSPEC).

By the end of the course, students will have the confidence to apply critical MBSE techniques effectively across the product development life-cycle, improving decision-making and enhancing complex system development.

Participants receive a comprehensive course folder with presentation slides and curated readings to support ongoing learning. Access is also provided to a free MBSE tool, enabling continued practice and application of skills beyond the course.
