CAPT George W. Ringenberg Award
Purpose: To provide recognition for outstanding services and noteworthy contributions to the UWD.
It is the policy of the NDIA UWD to recognize those who, through their service and leadership to the UWD have made noteworthy contributions to the organization. To this end effort will be made to identify a candidate or candidate(s) for the Ringenberg award.
Nomination criteria include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:
- Outstanding services and noteworthy contributions to the UWD.
- Must serve, or have served, in the NDIA UWD or predecessor organizations.
- Must be a U. S. citizen.
Who can Nominate: UWD Executive Board and Advisory Committee members. NDIA UWD will accept nominations from the Navy Research Laboratories and Warfare Centers via their representatives to the EB.
Nomination Process: Nominator prepares a summary document (1-2 pages) which supports the Award Criteria, along with a resume (recommended). A proposed Citation shall be included in the nomination package.
Nomination Period: 1 November – 15 January
Evaluation Process: Nominees will be evaluated by the NDIA USW Awards Committee and recommendations will be provided to the full EB for approval. Selection criteria include:
- Outstanding services and noteworthy contributions to the UWD
- Noteworthy Contributions to effective Govt-Ind communications- 20 points
- Must serve, or have served, in the NDIA UWD or predecessor organizations
- Meritorious Service to NDIA - 10 points
- US Citizen
- Regular contributor in USW Conferences /events - 10 points
Notification Process: Upon approval from the EB, all nominating organizations shall be contacted via email within 5 days. The Award winner shall receive follow-on correspondence to arrange for conference attendance. Registration fees for the NDIA USW Spring Conference will be waived for the Award Recipient.
