Arlington, VA// Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy slated to speak to defense industrial base at NDIA event

Arlington, VA — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to virtually deliver an address at the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA)’s Future Force Capabilities Conference and Exhibition on Wednesday, September 21 as he rallies international support for his country's fight against the Russian invasion. He will be joined by H.E. Oleksii Reznikov, Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, who will also virtually speak at the event.

Zelenskyy is expected to discuss Ukrainian defense needs and the critical primacy of the United States in advanced technology and hardware for the fight. His speech marks a rare moment for the Eastern European leader, as he directly addresses American military leaders and the defense industrial base.

The Hon. David L. Norquist, NDIA’s president and CEO said of Zelenskyy’s slated speech: "NDIA commends the inspiring and courageous stand that President Zelenskyy, H.E. Roznikov, and all of Ukraine have taken against Russia’s invasion. Together with the administration, Congress, allies, and partners, we will continue to support Ukrainians in their efforts to secure lasting freedom."

Zelenskyy’s remarks will complement a four-day conference that features briefings on capabilities, keynote panels, technical paper presentations, exhibitions, and a live-fire demonstration on the conference theme: “Evolving Technologies – Ensuring Readiness for Multi Domain Operations.”

The Future Force Capabilities Conference and Exhibition is America’s top defense technology event, attended by the U.S. defense industrial base and government leaders. It is held annually and takes place this year at the Austin Convention Center, in Austin, TX.

Zelenskyy's speech, expected between 9:30 to 10:15 am Central Texas Time, will be shown at the event’s Ballroom D in the Austin Convention Center and streamed live to media only on NDIA platforms.

Last Monday, Zelensky issued a warning to Russian forces that Ukraine would chase Russian forces out of the country: “The occupiers must know we will chase them to the border,” he said.

Zelenskyy has made virtual addresses to the U.S. Congress and NATO allies, but an address directly to the U.S. defense industrial base is unprecedented.
