DoD makes first Defense Production Act Title 3 COVID-19 project award

ARLINGTON, VA – A $133 million project to increase production capacity of N95 masks is the first award under Title 3 of the Defense Production Act, the Defense Department announced April 11.

The White House Task Force gave DoD approval late April 10 execute the first DPA Title 3 project responding to COVID-19. The increased production will ensure the federal government “gets dedicated, long-term industrial capacity to meet the needs of the nation,” DoD said in a statement, available here.

Additional details, including the names of the companies, will be provided in the coming days when the contract is awarded.
