NDIA congratulates Gen. Mark Milley, newest Joint Chiefs chairman
ARLINGTON, VA -- The National Defense Industrial Association issues this statement regarding the confirmation of Gen. Mark Milley as the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff:
NDIA congratulates Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley on his confirmation to succeed Marine Corps Gen. Joe Dunford as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Milley is the 20th person to hold the position, and NDIA is confident in his ability to advise the president, defense secretary and other members of the National Security Council.
His depth of command includes the U.S. Army Forces Command, III Corps, 82nd Airborne Division and 5th Special Forces Group. Milley’s joint experience includes tours as the Joint Operations Division Chief, deputy director for regional operations (DDRO/J33 Current Operations) for the Joint Staff, and as military assistant to the defense secretary. His nearly four decades of service has equipped him with the leadership experience needed to provide sound military advice.
NDIA thanks Milley for his years of service to the Army and looks forward to supporting him in his new role as the highest-ranking military officer in the country.
