Digital transformation of modeling and simulation is focus of MODSIM World

4/15/2019

ARLINGTON, VA -- Next week, industry and government experts will explore the present power and future promise of modeling and simulation at MODSIM World 2019, April 22-24 at Hilton Norfolk the Main in Norfolk, Virginia. Come join the hundreds attending who will hear what these experts reveal about these fast-evolving technologies.

MODSIM World “will focus on the ways modeling and simulation enable organizations to embrace digital transformation,” said Marco Estrada of Newport News Shipbuilding, who is the conference chair. “There are many avenues where modeling and simulation empower this change, and we are touching on all of them, from the explosion of analytics to the growth of extended reality (XR) in training and content delivery.”

The National Training and Simulation Association of Arlington, Virginia, an affiliate of the National Defense Industrial Association, presents this event.

Among the event’s highlights:

  • Various panels that look at how modeling and simulation are transforming industries from defense and homeland security to heavy manufacturing, plus a look at data in virtual environments.
  • “Training and Readiness in the Digital Age,” a featured presentation with Navy Capt. Timothy Hill, Air Force Col. Robert Epstein and Army Col. Lawrence Mullany. These leaders will discuss the challenges the military faces to stay ready in a continuously changing digital world.
  • “Extending Medical Training Beyond Reality,” the theme of this year’s Innovation Corner, including demonstrations from Quantified Design Solutions, JANUS Research, Plas.md and ICF. Also, the exhibit hall returns, full of the latest innovations.
  • Paper sessions that highlight the work and study of experts who seek to further the reach of modeling and simulation into defense work, making it better and stronger for the warfighter.
