NDIA commends Pompeo appointment as Secretary of State

ARLINGTON, VA -- The National Defense Industrial Association made the following statement Thursday, April 26, regarding Mike Pompeo:

NDIA welcomes the appointment of Mike Pompeo as the 70th Secretary of State.

In this time of great power competition, coordinating diplomacy and economic influence with military engagement in defense of international norms and U.S. interests will be key to shaping behavior on the international stage. Secretary Pompeo’s unique service in the military, industry, congress and the intelligence community make him a fit for these times. 

As NDIA continues to work with the State Department on security cooperation, we look forward to Secretary Pompeo’s leadership in strengthening the U.S. defense industrial base’s role in global engagement with our allies and partners.
