Tech Demonstration

Introduction
It’s that time of the year where we all look forward to a great NDIA Joint Technology and Systems Forum Demonstration, “NDIA Tech Demo” for short, (formerly known as the “NDIA Joint Armaments Symposium Firepower Demonstration”) and a promising and safe day on the range.  This year the event is a joint effort with the NDIA Small Arms, Guns, Ammunition, Rockets and Missiles (GARM) and Unconventional and Emerging Armament (UEA) Committees participating together.  Every year more Contractors understand the importance of placing their products in the demonstration to demonstrate their products and confirm technology evolution enhancements benefiting capability.

Joint Armament Forum System and Technology Demonstration Overview
To ensure that systems and technologies evolving within each committee is included in the demonstration the scope of the demonstration has been expanded to include not only firing demonstrations of various weapons or ammunition types but to also seek to include items that complement or enable effective use of the armament systems. This may include system and technologies which enable weapon capability and benefit or apply to the armament community.  Note that demonstration items are not required to be firing items but can be hardware to be viewed etc.

The Armaments Division welcomes participation of NDIA members with applicable systems and technology.  In addition to ensure that the demonstration provides opportunity for evolving capabilities attendee suggestions of systems or technology which should be considered for inclusion are encouraged.  The committee will consider these suggestions for inclusion in 2014 if possible but will apply these suggestions in planning for 2015.  Please submit your suggested systems/technologies to Sal Fanelli, Chairman, Technology Demonstration Session, (703) 432-5672 or salvatore.fanelli@usmc.mil.

NOTE
The NDIA Joint Armament Forum Demonstration Committee will review and approve all contractor demonstration requests and other comments.  A list of demonstrations and demonstrating companies will be posted on the NDIA Joint Armament Forum website.

To ensure 2014 Joint Armament Forum attendee awareness of the demonstration content and benefits we have included opportunities to communicate demonstration content including:
• Demonstrating companies who do not have an exhibit are encouraged (optional) to have a Forum Poster Session presentation for each of the demonstration items. Alternatively, demonstrators may purchase a booth.  It is requested that the item be identified and highlighted.  Forum time has been allocated for the Poster Session focus on Tuesday afternoon and at each break thus providing an opportunity for communication with attendees.
• Company individuals who are participating in the demonstration will be identified with an ID Badge indicating “Demonstrator” - thus facilitating communication etc.
