Introduction

The Canadian, Australian, British and American defence industries have a shared history of business cooperation and investment that dates back decades and continues today. All sides have prospered from their past and ongoing business relationships.

With defence budgets in North America and Europe under severe pressure, there is ever greater need for closer collaboration between the defence and security industries of the four allied nations, as well as for lowering the barriers to trade between them. The four nations are not only exporters of equipment and components, but also significant importers and users.

  • What is the outlook for the four national defence budgets?
  • Are export reforms and defence trade treaties making a difference?
  • How can the defence & security businesses deliver more through greater collaboration?

These questions will be addressed by senior industry and government officials of the four nations at this Quadrilateral Defence & Security Conference to be held in Ottawa, Canada on 27 May 2014.

The conference is being hosted by the Canadian Association of Defence & Security Industries (CADSI), in collaboration with the Australian Industry & Defence Network (AIDN), ADS (UK) and National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) of the USA.
