U.S. and Danish industry have been partners in addressing national security concerns for decades. The two industries have worked together not only on a number of industrial cooperation arrangements in Denmark, but also on technology cooperation programs in the U.S. and other international markets.
Danish defense industry is a high-tech business exporting 80 pct. of goods and services. An increased focus on manufacturing innovation, specifically maritime, will create new opportunities for partnerships with U.S. industry. Denmark possesses a highly skilled, English-speaking workforce characterized with 96 percent of young people completing a secondary education program.
In this context, the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) and the Danish Defence & Security Industries Association (FAD), with support from the Danish Assistant Defense, Military, Naval, and Air Attaché, will produce the U.S.-Denmark Defense Industry Seminar at the Royal Danish Embassy in Washington, DC. Representatives from the Danish MoD will be invited, as well as experts and company representatives from both countries. Fifteen to twenty executive-level representatives from Danish companies are expected to travel for the seminar. Speakers will examine recent trends and provide an overview of industrial capabilities.
The seminar will be an ideal platform for industry and government officials to identify and discuss new areas of cooperation.
