NDIA’s International Division presents a luncheon with Australia's National Armaments Director, Mr. Warren King, Chief Executive Officer of the Defence Materiel Organisation.
As the United States shifts its strategic focus towards the Asia-Pacific, Australia and the national security decisions it makes become increasingly important to its regional neighbors and to the U.S. Australia has taken measures that strengthen the already strong alliance with the U.S. while simultaneously fostering open dialogue and enhanced practical cooperation with its Asia-Pacific neighbors.
Mr. King will present an overview of the Australian Department of Defence's procurement activities, touching lightly on measures contained within Australia’s 2014-15 Federal Budget which will be released in the weeks leading up to the luncheon. Discussion will also cover cooperative development activity between Australia and the United States and a summary of the major capability enhancements being delivered to the Australian Defence Force. Lastly, the presentation will outline major activities and investments underway within Australia and conclude with a brief Q&A session.
Mr. Nigel Morris, Minister Counsellor Defence Materiel and Dr. Torgny Josefsson, Minister Counsellor Defence Science of the Australian Embassy staff in Washington, DC will be also in attendance and participate in the Q&A session.
