Introduction

Cyber challenges persist and propagate in spite of widespread concern in government and industry. The challenges are complex and multi-faceted, and several alternative approaches have emerged to address them.  The Department of Defense has partnered with defense industry companies in the Cyber Security / Information Assurance (CS/IA) program.  Members of the Defense Industrial Base have partnered in an industry to industry arrangement under the Defense Security Information Exchange (DSIE).  There are private – agency volunteer associations such as the FBI-sponsored INFRAGARD initiative.  Similarly, there are multiple legislative approaches to the cyber challenge, ranging from the recently released Executive Order to various legislative proposals.  Our event on April 9 will compare and contrast the lessons learned from these multiple approaches and stimulate new ideas on how our industries and institutions can succeed in the emerging cyber environment.
