Introduction

Dr. Patricia Falcone, Associate Director for National Security and International Affairs, Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), The White House

Dr. Patricia Falcone is the Associate Director for National Security and International Affairs in the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) at the White House.  She was sworn-in on August 23, 2012 following confirmation by the Senate.  Her work seeks to strengthen innovation and technical excellence in support of U.S. defense, intelligence, and national- and homeland-security missions and to ensure technical matters are effectively included in ongoing policy and budget development processes. 

Dr. Falcone previously worked as a member of the professional staff of Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, California from 1981 – 2012.  She was detailed to OSTP from 2009 – 2012. As a Senior Manager at Sandia, Dr. Falcone was responsible for Systems Analysis and Engineering; earlier, she was named a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff. 

She has served on the Board on Army Science and Technology of the National Academies, the Nuclear Deterrent Transformation Panel of the Department of Defense’s Threat Reduction Advisory Committee, and an Advisory committee at Princeton University.

Dr. Falcone holds a B.S.E. in Aerospace and Mechanical Sciences from Princeton University, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations received by Tuesday, June 25, 2013 will receive a refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Cancellations must be made in writing to bmurray@ndia.org. Substitutions to this event are welcome in lieu of cancellations.

Attire
Gentlemen are required to wear a coat and tie and ladies attire should be of a comparable degree of formality. Short sleeved uniforms may be worn in The Club when it is the prescribed uniform of the day by respective military services.

ID Badge
During meeting registration and check-in, each Attendee will be issued an identification badge. Please be prepared to present a valid picture ID.
