Introduction

Independent Research & Development (IR&D) continues to be a key source of technology innovation for the Department of Defense. Since last year, the Defense Innovation Marketplace website (www.DefenseInnovationMarketplace.mil) was launched, the DFARS rule went into effect, and the IR&D effort has become part of the Better Buying Power 2.0 effort to help "Incentivize Productivity & Innovation in Industry and Government."

Join us on Thursday, March 21, 2013 as Colonel Brooks McFarland, USAF, current IR&D Program Lead, provides an update on IR&D activities. Specifically:

  • A review of the initiative since 2011
  • Planned activities and future updates in 2013
  • The Search Tool: What Department users will see when searching company IR&D data

Most importantly, we would like to get feedback; from any issues to inputting R&D projects to how we can continue to improve the Defense Innovation Marketplace.

Via Metro
Take the Orange or Blue lines to the Rosslyn Metro stop. The Rosslyn Metro stop is between Ft. Myer Drive and North Moore Street. After exiting the Metro train, take the escalator to the top and go through the Metro ticket check. Then stay left to exit towards N. Moore Street. At N. Moore Street turn right and head towards Wilson Blvd. The Boeing office building is straight ahead at 1200 Wilson Blvd.

While no parking is available onsite, there are a number of commercial parking garages in the vicinity.
