It is with sincere regret that NDIA must cancel the 57th Annual Fuze Conference, scheduled to take place in San Diego, CA April 30 – May 2, 2013. As you may be aware, on January 10, 2013 the U.S. Department of Defense issued a memorandum detailing actions to be taken to prepare for drastic budget cuts resulting from sequestration and/or related fiscal challenges. Since then, further government guidance has been released, curtailing all but mission critical travel for government employees, staff, and leaders. The implementation of that guidance, compounded by the recent failure of the budget process to resolve sequestration, has now made it impossible for Department of Defense employees to travel to and participate in the Fuze Conference. Without the participation of these government personnel, it is no longer possible to achieve the exchange of technical presentations that formed the purpose of the event.
All registered Attendees, Exhibitors, and Sponsors will receive a full refund of fees paid. All refunds will be processed as soon as possible. Registrants are reminded that they are responsible for cancelling their own hotel reservations, and other travel–related arrangements.
On behalf of NDIA and the Fuze Steering Committee, we want to thank you for supporting the Fuze Conference. It has proven to be an invaluable venue for industry and government to have an open and engaging dialogue for identifying the technologies that will be needed to meet the future requirements of the Warfighter. We are committed to providing this forum next year when the present uncertainties associated with the government fiscal environment are hopefully resolved.
