Introduction

The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) encourages companies exporting products and technology to establish an Export Management and Compliance Program (EMCP). Developing an effective EMCP is an invaluable way a company can protect the vital interests of the company. Establishing an EMCP is not a guarantee that an export violation will not occur, but it minimizes the risk of noncompliance and is a map to consistent export compliance.

Agenda

The webinar will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm eastern standard time. You will receive a link via email on September 18, 2013 that will have access instructions for the webinar.

We will focus on the elements of an effective export compliance program and best practices.  Topics to be covered are the 19 elements that should be in a program, including:

- Management responsibilities
- Human Resource responsibilities and hiring practices
- Screening transactions (e.g. embargo screening, restricted parties and end-use)
- Classification
- License Determination
- License submission and maintenance responsibilities
- Securing technology and technical data
- Shipping requirements and responsibilities
- Employee training and knowledge
- Recordkeeping
- Internal Assessments/Audits

The webinar will also provide ample time for questions with our presenters.  This is a perfect overview and knowledge-building session for anyone in the aerospace community:

- Manufacturers and service providers exporting or providing services internationally
- Companies with foreign national employees
- Those who manufacture parts or provide services for the defense industry
- Anyone who wants to understand the “best practices” for ensuring an effective
   compliance program.
