Introduction

NDIA's International Division presents a luncheon with the Defense Cooperation Attaché and his staff from the Embassy of Italy in Washington, DC.

Each year, the International Division organizes a series of luncheons with the Defense Attaché staff from allied and friendly embassies. The purpose of these luncheons is to provide industry with an opportunity to exchange views with foreign government representatives and for Attaché staffs to provide industry with informative briefings.

Major General Giovanni Fantuzzi will present a broad overview of Italy’s MoD current commitment and touch lightly on several strategic-level issues.

The issues include: Italy’s current domestic politics and factors that influence its strategic visionHow does Italy perceive itself within NATO, within Western Europe, and globally? He will follow with observations about Italy’s approach to reconciling its strategic vision with resource realities and the implications for the Defense Ministry’s acquisition planning. Lastly, MGEN Fantuzzi and his staff will be happy to address some questions.

MGEN Fantuzzi will be joined by the following staff members:

Directions

95/495:

  • Take 395 North to Exit 7B (North Glebe Road).
  • Stay on Glebe Road for about ½ Mile and make a Right Turn on to 18th Street.
  • 18th Street quickly splits into 18th Street and 17th Road, Bear to the Right, which will be 18th Street and is a residential area.
  • Stay on 18th Street as it will become the entrance to Army Navy Country Club.
  • The Clubhouse is straight ahead.
     

From Washington:

  • Cross the 14th Street Bridge and following the Signs for 395 South.
  • Stay on 395 South until Exit 7 (Glebe Road). 
  • Exiting 395 South, stay in the Right Exit Lane and go to the Traffic Light.
  • At the Traffic Light make a Right Turn on to Glebe Road.
  • Stay on Glebe Road for about ½ Mile and make a Right Turn on to 18th Street.
  • 18th Street quickly splits into 18th Street and 17th Road, Bear to the Right, which will be 18th Street.
  • Stay on 18th Street until you see entrance to Army Navy Country Club. 
  • The Clubhouse is straight ahead.
     

From the Pentagon:

  • From the Pentagon go to the Army Navy Drive Entrance/Exit.
  • Make a Right Turn on to Army Navy Drive.
  • Proceed South for about 1 Mile, looking for the Army Navy Country Club Sign on the Right, which is located at an underpass of Route 395.
  • Make a Right Turn after the Sign and you will see the main gate of ANCC.
  • Follow the Road up to the Main Parking Lot.
  • The Clubhouse will be on your left.
