He acts as the primary cybersecurity advisor to Chairman Mr. Peter T. King of the full committee and Mr. Daniel Lungren, Chair of the subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection and Security Technologies. Mr. Gronberg is closely involved in drafting legislation dealing with cybersecurity programs and policies of the Department of Homeland Security. This is his second stint with the Committee where he was counsel from 2006-2008.
Previous to working for the Committee, Mr. Gronberg was the manager of CIP Policy and Coordination at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), where he directed analysis of critical infrastructure protection issues, and coordinated policy with key electric industry stakeholders, including U.S. Government agencies. Prior to NERC, Mr. Gronberg worked as an attorney in the Office of the General Counsel at the Department of Homeland Security, where he provided legal counsel to the staff and leadership of the Department’s Office of Cyber Security and Communications.
