Introduction

The 2012 Joint Armaments Division Conference for Small Arms, Gun and Missile,
and Unconventional and Emerging Armament (U&EA) systems will be held at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, Washington from May 14-17, 2012. The theme of the joint conference is “21st Century Weapon Systems - Providing the Right
Response.” The Armaments Division Committee focus themes are:

  • Small Arms Systems: Technology and Systems Sustaining and Evolving
    Small Arms Capability
  • Gun and Missile Systems: Force and Weapon Sustainment for a Flexible
    Theater Environment
  • Unconventional and Emerging Armaments: Emerging Capabilities and Systems

The purpose of the Joint Armaments Conference is to bring together the complete government and industry community to participate in presentations and exhibits representing activities supporting the evolving requirements, technologies, systems and ongoing production. Poster sessions continue to grow in interest and will be expanded to supplement the oral presentations. Tutorial sessions addressing key topics of interest in requirements, acquisition, ITAR, program management, etc., will be expanded to reflect attendee interest. The joint conference will include a firing demonstration.

The 2012 conference will be the first to highlight the Unconventional and Emerging Armament sessions. The Unconventional and Emerging Armaments (U&EA) Committee is an important addition to the Armaments Division. This committee is focused on emerging systems, technologies and supporting related capability presentations which utilize target
defeat mechanisms or are enabled by capabilities to defeat, disable, or disrupt the threat.

Registration fees include admission to the general session, breakout sessions, exhibit hall, Monday/Tuesday night networking reception, and all breakfasts, breaks, and lunches.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received by May 4, 2012 will receive a refund minus a $75 cancellation fee. Please note that no refunds will be given for cancellations received after May 4, 2012. Substitutions are welcome in lieu of cancellations. All cancellations and substitutions must be made in writing to kseymour@ndia.org.

Firing Demonstration

The Armaments Division will be conducting a firing demonstration on Thursday, May 17, at Cascade Shooting Facilities, Ravensdale, WA. Buses will depart from the Washington State Convention Center at 12 pm.  You must be a registered attendee/exhibitor for the Joint Armaments Conference in order to attend the firing demonstration.

If you are interested in demonstrating a weapon system or new technology, please contact Sal Fanelli, salvatore.fanelli@usmc.mil.

Each participating company must read the below rules AND complete the Registration form.  The registration form must be submitted to Sal Fanelli, Jim Schatz and Chris Hodges (contact information on the registration form) in order to participate. NDIA Firing Demonstration registration form must be turned in NO LATER THAN May 1, 2012.

Attendee Information

Attire: Conference attire is business casual for civilians and Class B uniform or uniform of the day for military.  In addition, your identification badge, received upon conference check-in, must be worn at all times.
