As announced at the 2011 Tactical Wheeled Vehicle conference, NDIA's TWV Division will present its first annual Red Ball Express Award to a deserving government or industry organization or individual at the 2012 conference.  The recipient will have made significant contributions that have led to the strengthening of our national security by developing or procuring TWV's or critical technologies that contribute to them.

There are NO displays or exhibits with this conference – it is a conference only.

In conjunction with the National Defense Industrial Association’s (NDIA) 2012 Tactical-Wheeled Vehicle Conference, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land and Maritime will conduct an Industry Outreach Briefing.  The briefing is a forum for us to share with you the results of our analysis of projected sustainment requirements for tactical wheeled vehicles for 2012 to 2013. 

The Industrial Base Outreach briefing (invitation pdf) is Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 2:00 pm. , in the Ferrante room of the Portola Plaza Hotel & Monterey Conference Center. 

The featured speakers are Brigadier General Darrell K. Williams, Commanding General, DLA Land and Maritime, and Colonel Jeffrey J. Vieira, Director of Land Customer Operations, DLA Land and Maritime.  A question and answer session will follow the Industrial Outreach Briefing.

Each registrant is responsible for making his/her own hotel reservations.  When making your reservation, indicate the room reservation is for the NDIA - 2012 Tactical Wheeled Vehicles Conference.

A block of overflow rooms have been set aside at the Casa Munras & Pacific Hotels (see overflow hotel information below). Both the Portola Plaza Hotel at Monterey Bay & Monterey Marriott hotels are sold-out.

Portola Hotel Guest Room Reservation Guarantee (deposit) & Cancellation (deposit refund) Policy

All reservations will be held until 4:00 p.m. (local time).  In order to guarantee a reservation for arrival after 4:00 p.m., the Portola Plaza Hotel at Monterey Bay requires a pre-paid deposit equivalent to one night’s room and tax (for the first night for each reservation), to be paid by check or major credit card.

The deposit is refundable if cancellation notice is 48 hours prior to arrival date.  If reservations are not cancelled prior to forty-eight (48) hours in advance, the guest will incur a “no-show” charge of the one night’s room and tax deposit.

If you do not receive an emailed confirmation with your invoice# after submitting your registration, your 2012 Tactical Wheeled Vehicles conference registration is incomplete and was not received by NDIA.  Please call NDIA immediately at (703) 522-1820 for assistance.

  1. Either verify your account with your email address or enter your user name and password.

Suggestion:  Please print the following steps before logging-in to register multiple individuals:

Foreign Payment

Registration fees may be paid by credit card, U.S. Government Purchase Orders only (e.g. DD 1556), Check, or Electronic Transfer; checks must be drawn on U.S. banks in U.S. ($) dollars.  NDIA does not accept foreign government purchase orders and will not invoice them for payment.  If paying by electronic transfer, the total amount received by NDIA must be calculated as follows: [$Registration Fee + any incurred Bank, wiring, and/or Conversion fees].  Please include the name of the attendee and event# in the bank transfer information.

Reminder - Conference Attendee On-line Registration updates:

    If you do NOT want to have your contact information (ph# and e-mail address only) included on the conference attendee registration list that is handed-out on-site during registration check-in, you may “opt out” by checking the “sessions” box at the bottom of the on-line registration web form while you are registering online for the 2012 Tactical Wheeled Vehicles Conference.

  • additional copies of registration confirmation e-mails

    Now, when you or your accounting representative/credit card holder/training officer registers you for a conference or event on the NDIA website, he/she can put in a second e-mail address to receive a second, additional copy of the confirmation registration e-mail receipt. 

As always, the attendee will receive a confirmation e-mail to his/her own e-mail address by default (to e-mail address in the attendee’s database record).

Registration Confirmation e-mails

Once your on-line registration has been submitted, you will receive a “Thank you for registering for 2530 Event Registration Confirmation, Invoice #” confirmation email immediately upon receipt of your payment online, so please ensure that your e-mail address is complete and accurate.  Please bring a copy of this confirmation with you to the conference to help avoid any possible delays at check-in.

If you do not receive an emailed confirmation with your invoice#, please call NDIA immediately at (703) 522-1820 for assistance.  The confirmation may have been filtered out as SPAM or the e-mail address you used may have been misspelled.

  • If you are registering another person other than yourself (e.g. a co-worker, your boss, etc.), the invoice# confirmation email will be sent to the email address in the individual profile used when registering.  Please check with that individual to make sure that they received the confirmation email.

  • If you registered another person (e.g. a co-worker, your boss, etc.) on-line, the invoice# confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address of the person you registered.  Please check with that individual to make sure that they received the confirmation e-mail.

  • If you are registering another person (other than yourself or are the credit card holder/purchasing agent) on-line, the invoice# confirmation email will be sent to the email address in the individual profile used when registering.  Please check with that individual to make sure that they received the confirmation invoice# email.

  • If you are the credit card holder/purchasing agent and wish to receive a copy of the confirmation, please send an e-mail Association Service Center at webasc@ndia.org.

Cancellations, Substitutions and Requests for Refunds

All cancellations, substitutions, and requests for refunds must be done so in writing. Registrants who are unable to attend the conference must fax or email their cancellation or refund request on or before Monday, January 23rd, 2012, to the attention of: Angie De Kleine at (703) 522-1885, email: adekleine@ndia.org .

NO refunds will be issued for cancellations received after 5:00 PM EST this date.  A $75 administrative fee will be applied to ALL cancellations received before Monday, January 23rd, 2012. 

Refunds will not be issued for no-shows.  If an attendee has not submitted payment for his/her registration, and does not attend the conference or cancel by the deadline, he/she will be invoiced for the balance due.

We do not issue refunds for the sole purpose of switching forms of payment; please be sure you are registering with the correct form of payment (a fee will be applied to those wishing to switch forms of payment).

This cancellation/refund policy applies to all attendees regardless of their method of payment, registration, and/or reasons for the cancellation.

Refunds are a two step process:

  • 1st the registration cancellation refund paperwork is processed by the ASC registration department;

  • 2nd that paper work is then turned over to the Accounting department.

  • The refund process can take up to 5 to 14 business days to actually see the credit.

Substitutions are welcome!  

Substitutions must be submitted in writing, by the original registrant, by faxing to 703-522-4656.    If requesting a substitution, please indicate if payment (if already received by NDIA) is to be transferred to the new attendee or refunded.

If submitting your cancellation/refund request by fax, please keep a copy of the fax confirmation receipt for your records.

Identification Badges

Each attendee will be provided with an identification badge during on-site registration check-in. You must present a Government Issued (U.S. or Foreign) Photo I.D. (e.g. Driver’s License, Passport) to obtain your NDIA 2012 Tactical Wheeled Vehicles Conference Badge. 

2012 Tactical Wheeled Vehicles conference badges are only valid for the dates of the conference, February 5 - 7, 2012.   

 ** Corporate/Contractor ID’s are not acceptable forms of ID **.

No badge = no access to ANY event venues

(includes any spouses/guests for Networking Reception and Dinner and/or Golf Tournament).

Golf Tournament

The 14th  Annual NDIA – Tactical Wheeled Vehicles Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, February 5th, 2012, at the Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside, California.  If you wish to participate, you must fill out the Golf Tournament form (PDF), and submit with payment, the tournament fee of $135.00 per player.  ALL golf tournament registration forms MUST be submitted to and received by NDIA Headquarters Association Service Center Staff (ASC /registration department), in Arlington, VA for processing.  You must first be registered as an attendee for the 2012 Tactical Wheeled Vehicles Conference in order to sign-up for the Golf Tournament (with the exception of  spouses of registered conference attendees)*.

Please note:  We have a minimum of 100 spaces to fill and can only take reservations for the first 128 golfers – NDIA ASC will open the only official “Wait List” with the 129th registrant (the “Wait List” will close at the #144 slot).  the 2011 golf tournament sold-out and the waitlist opened & closed four (4) weeks early on January 4th.

When registering on-line, you will be able to register for both the conference and golf tournament at the same time, using one form of payment.

  • You must first be registered as an attendee for the 2012 Tactical Wheeled Vehicles Conference in order to sign-up for the Golf Tournament (with the exception of spouses of registered conference attendees).

  • When registering on-line, you will be able to register for both the conference and golf tournament at the same time, using one form of payment. *

    • *If you’re a government attendee (civilian or active duty military); you will probably be required to register & pay for your golf tournament fee separately (via a personal cc#, check; cash).

    • Suggestion/reminder – please make sure your conference registration is submitted to & processed (on-line or by NDIA headquarters early - e.g. if your conference registration requires prior approval by a training officer, PO; etc.), in order for your golf tournament registration to be processed prior to the tournament selling out.  You will need to fill out the Golf Tournament registration form (pdf) and submit with payment, the tournament fee (the form (pdf) will be posted on the meeting page).   

In the event we do not fill the 100 (player minimum) slots, the event will change to a tee time format, starting at 8:30 a.m. 

A limited number of sets of " Titleist " (and other brand) clubs are available to rent, for the tournament.  Please call the Bayonet Pro Shop at (831) 899-7271 to reserve your set of clubs.

Golf cancellation refund requests must be received by NDIA Headquarters by Wednesday, January 4th, 2012 in order to receive a refund. As announced at the 2011 Tactical Wheeled Vehicle conference, NDIA's TWV Division will present its first annual Red Ball Express Award to a deserving government or industry organization or individual at the 2012 conference.  The recipient will have made significant contributions that have led to the strengthening of our national security by developing or procuring TWV's or critical technologies that contribute to them.

A final (revised) agenda and attendee roster will be distributed at the conference.  Your registration and payment must be received by Monday, January 23rd, 2012 to be included in the roster.  An updated attendee roster will NOT be printed after the conference.

Monterey Airport Leaving the airport, turn right on 68. Take 68 to the Central Monterey fork and exit left to HWY 1 South.  Continue on HWY 1 and exit at the first Monterey exit.  Turn right on Camino Aguajito and continue 8 blocks to Del Monte Avenue.  Turn left and stay to the left past the fork at Fisherman’s Wharf.  The Portola hotel is on the right side 2 traffic lights in Portola Plaza.

From San Francisco Airport:

Take 101 South to 156 West to 1 South. Exit at Pacific Grove/Del Monte Avenue. On Del Monte Avenue stay in the left lane past the fork at Fisherman’s Wharf. The hotel will be on the right 1 1/2 block after the fork.

From HWY 68, take “Central Monterey” fork onto Highway 1, to the first Monterey exit. At first signal, turn right onto Aguajito Ave.  At next signal light, turn left onto Del Monte Ave. Continue in the left-hand lane of Del Monte, and at the “Y” in the road stay left following the “Downtown” sign.  The hotel is located one block ahead on your right.  Turn right at the light into Portola Plaza. The hotel is located in Central Monterey, 200 yards from Fisherman’s Wharf, at the intersection of Del Monte Ave. and Alvarado St.  The hotel is in the downtown area section.  It is also 1/2 mile from the near side of Cannery Row, and 1 mile from the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
